What’s In A Name?

Things you may not know about Pure Healing Reflexology and Wellness.

Why the name “Pure Healing Reflexology and Wellness” you ask? I’ve had many customers and clients ask that. It’s not just any name or just like any other businesses logo. There is an in-depth meaning behind it.

When coming up with my name/logo, I put A LOT of thought into it. I literally spent almost an entire year coming up with it. I had come across a verse in the Bible and something struck me about it.

“She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I wanted to be the “tree” in this verse so that every client that enters my doors can see the light and love of Christ through me and through my work. I wanted people that came in stressed to leave happy and healthier. I also wanted my business to be rooted and grounded in God. I wanted my connection to Him be what gets others connected physically and spiritually.

So, my first thought for a logo was The Tree of Life. I started researching about the tree of life. When designing my logo, I wanted a body in the center of the tree. Because when people came to my business, my goal was to get their bodies rooted and grounded into health.

“For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I decided I wanted the tree of life as my logo. The more ideas I found, the more I loved it. But, then there was coming up with a name that explained everything I wanted my business to be. I tossed around a lot of ideas. Some good, some bad. I remember one night sitting and thinking “I want people to know that what I’m offering is real, that I’m not going to use anything unnatural or anything that is not pure. I wanted to make sure my clients were getting the best service, the best experience, as well as the purest products that I can use on each client. So the first word that came to my mind was “Pure”.. I looked up the definition and it immediately resonated with my desires.

But, I couldn’t name my business just “Pure”. What do I want to offer or felicitate? Healing. Natural. Pure. Healing. So Pure Healing was the next step. But, in the area we are in people are not well educated on Reflexology and it’s not something our community is well-informed about. So, I wanted people to know the main service I offered. It needed to be in the name. So, then Came, Pure Healing Reflexology.

I knew I wasn’t going to stop with my Reflexology education, my passion was to continue to learn and grow my knowledge in natural healing. So, I needed to make sure once I completed any other studies that the other modalities or services were covered in the name. So then came “Wellness” which then completed my name...

This process was not easy. I put a lot of thought and prayer into choosing my logo and name. I worked hard in having it designed specifically for my business that I could call my own. Something to be proud of. The fact that it took me almost a year to come to this decision, says a lot about my personality. I don’t like making sudden decisions and I put a lot of thought and effort to all of my business endeavors. I want to be the best for my clients and I want to offer the best. The above information is just a small portion of information and research I put into my naming my business and designing the logo. I have never shared the story behind my business name and logo and wanted to share a little of the heart I put into my little business. To most people it may just be a name, but it’s very special to me!

If you made it this far, thank you for reading the story behind the naming and creation of my business! ❤️
