Cancer and Reflexology

Updated: Sep 13, 2019

As a Registered Certified Reflexologist making sure that I am well educated and well informed on how reflexology can help with any health challenge is one of my top priorities. I already have hundreds of hours in my education but, for me it doesn’t stop there. I must continue to learn, educate, and grow. The more I know, the more I can help others have quality of life. Investing in my education as a reflexologist is for the benefit of my clients and their well-being.

I currently have several clients that have been given the diagnosis of cancer. Some are minor and some are serious. They have been consistent with incorporating reflexology into their wellness routine and have seen tremendous results. Whether you’re going the all-natural route or chemotherapy route, reflexology is a non-invasive modality that can naturally assist in the management of symptoms and side effects from medicine/chemotherapy.

The research I have found is in the book I study called “Medical Application of Reflexology: Findings in Research about Cancer” written by Barbara and Kevin Kunz. Studies from eleven countries show improvements for clients during all aspects of the cancer experience. Here are some of the wonderful benefits:

🌻Chemotherapy symptoms are lessened for cancer patients receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy. When reflexology is applied, results from research show patients experience decrease in nausea, vomiting, anxiety, fatigue, and depression.

🌻Management of symptoms during cancer care. Symptoms is improved for cancer clients receiving reflexology as demonstrated by research. Lessened pain, stress, anxiety, nausea, and depression was realized by hospitalized patients with implications of reflexology by a R.C.R. (Registered Certified Reflexologist).

🌻Post-operative care studies show that the application of reflexology post-operatively results in lessened pain and anxiety for cancer clients. Post-operative reflexology care is also a non-invasive way to help boost the bodies immune system, increase the speed of healing due to reflexology helping the body heal naturally on its own, and decrease the need for pain medicine post-operative.

🌻Reflexology applied for any cancer client can experience many health benefits and help improve their overall quality of life. It helps reduce physical and emotional symptoms, alleviates fatigue, can improve energy levels, improves quality of sleep, and so much more.

If you or a loved one has been given this diagnosis, consider reflexology for a non-invasive form of care. Your health depends on it!
